Dr. Doug The Holistic Vet

Dr. Doug Knueven, DVM, operates Beaver Animal Clinic and has practiced integrative veterinary medicine for over 20 years, combining acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, chiropractic care, nutritional therapy, and homeopathy. He treats dogs and cats using an integrative approach that selects the most appropriate treatment for each individual animal, grounded in his belief that proper nutrition and evolution-based diets are foundational to pet health. Dr. Knueven graduated from Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and transitioned from conventional practice to holistic medicine after recognizing the limitations of the mechanistic Western model taught in veterinary school.
